Yesterday we finally got off our lazy butts and went for some adventures. Yesterday we started with a drive west to Vancouver. We entered the city from the east, "East Van." I was warned before we left of the 'hooligans' and 'druggies' that roam the area, but was almost pleasantly surprised to find that it was a complete freak show. It was a Hobo flea market that included, old shoes, scummy fish tanks, and probably drugs. When we got to a parking garage we pulled in and two ladies gave us their parking ticket (good for the day) so we were happy. We wandered around the city including Robson Street which wasn't all it was cracked up to be (we're not that into shopping). Then we moved on to North Vancouver to Stanley Park. Amy and I walked the seawall and watched float planes take off and land. We saw Totem poles and an awesome view of Lionsgate Bridge. Next we moved on to Capilano Suspension Bridge where we crossed the gorge and toured the treetops.
Today we woke up late and hit and summit Mt.Thom. A tiny little mountain right behind our house, but it had an awesome view. Next we went to the town of Hope and the Othello Tunnels. VERY cool! The "tunnels" were old railroad passages through the mountains over a river gorge. Pictures below are from yesterday at the Suspension Bridge and today from Mt.Thom and Othello Tunnels.
